DAY 1: Cotopaxi Bike and Hike (If you start on Wednesday or Saturday)
Time : 7:00 am
Pick up at 7.00 am in New Town (Magic Bean Cafe, Juan Leon Mera & Foch).Breakfast.Travel to Cotopaxi National ParkVisit to Interpretation Center Mariscal.
Arrive at parking place, explanation about volcano /animals/ plants/etc.
Once inside the National Park we hike up to the refugee that is located at 4864 m, where we are going to have a little rest to refill our energy and enjoy the view of the park. (4600 m./ 15.748ft.) – approx. 1 hour.
After our break we begin our 1 hour of downhill cycling to Limpiopungo Lagoon.
We enjoy our well deserved lunch and then you will be dropped off at your accommodation for the night*Note that the weather in Cotopaxi is unpredictable, and at such altitude you will want to bring warm layers!Night in Papagayo Hosteria or Chuquiragua Lodge (Depending on availability)
DAY 2: QUILOTOA CRATER LAKE (IF YOU START ON WEDNESDAY OR SATURDAY)
Time : 8:00 am
Pick up from your lodge around 8:00-8:30 am, after you enjoy breakfast and join the group for the tour.
Depending on the day, we will visit either the Saquisilí (Thursdays), or Pujilí (Sundays) indigenous markets so you can appreciate the contrast between these and those of the Imbabura province (Otavalo).
After enjoying the sights of the crater from the viewpoint we will make our way down to the lake. Depending on your personal preference you can either hike back up or enjoy a mule/horse ride back up.
Before lunch we will visit the Tigua Community that is well known for their handicrafts.
Return to Quito Approx 6:00 pm.
